A journalist that I admire is Erin Lim Rhodes, formerly Erin Lim (she got married in 2021). Lim Rhodes is a correspondent for E! News, as well as the host of E! News The Rundown, an entertainment broadcast exclusive to the popular photo-sharing social media app Snapchat. Lim Rhodes has been a part of the E! News team for over seven years.
I admire Lim Rhodes because she is a well-seasoned entertainment reporter, keeping up with the flow of newer generations and what's currently trending. She never misses a beat (literally and figuratively). Any time I have looked her up on the internet, she can be seen interviewing a new celebrity, attending another red carpet event or hosting the latest episode of The Rundown.

When it comes to interviewing celebrities, Lim Rhodes likes to lean into the role of a friend more than just a journalist. She wants her interviewees to be comfortable speaking with her, and she maintains a confident and up-beat tone. She will usually phrase her questions in a way that makes her sound approachable, and not like she is just a person with a microphone, pining for answers. Of all the recorded celebrity interviews that I have watched by Lim Rhodes, no celebrity has looked uncomfortable during the process, nor have they rejected a chance to be interviewed by her.
In a recent red carpet interview that she conducted at the SAG Awards with Jack Quaid (the son of actors Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid), Lim Rhodes was able to catch Quaid for just a couple of minutes, but was also able to pack in five solid questions displaying that she did her research on Quaid. She mentions in this interview she read that Quaid "wants to play more weirdos." I was able to track down where he said that, and it was apparently in an interview with The New York Times. The biggest takeaways from that interview can also be found on Reddit - where there are no paywalls for access. Sorry NYT, I am too broke of a college student to give you my money.
