Obituary for Susie Rosenblatt

Susan (Susie) Rosenblatt died on December 29, 2021, at her home in Woodmere, NY, due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease and Frontal Lobe Cognitive Disorder Dementia. She was born on May 28, 1942, to Manuel and Fanny Kalkstein in Brooklyn.

She studied at Adelphi University, which was rare for women at the time, for one year. After her freshman year, she dropped out to marry the love of her life, Kenneth Rosenblatt. The couple wed on December 24, 1961.

She will always be remembered for her abundance of kindness and her ability to spread love to all - even strangers. Mrs. Rosenblatt selflessly offered to act as the mother of those who had lost their parents, making it clear as day that anyone and everyone could come to her for love and comfort without judgment.

Mrs. Rosenblatt loved to be around people. She shined her brightest in a crowd, especially around her family. She enjoyed hosting loved ones at her home for holidays and special occasions, most notably for Thanksgiving and Jewish holidays including Hanukkah and Passover.

Her famous recipe for homemade noodle pudding (noodle kugel) remains with her family, and will be passed on for generations to come.

A natural-born extrovert and entertainer, Mrs. Rosenblatt enjoyed singing and participating in theater in her youth. As she grew up, she found her love for children and started babysitting. Later on, she worked as a bookkeeper, before getting pregnant with her first child - a daughter named Lisa.

Mrs. Rosenblatt had always wanted a big family. She birthed four more children: twin sons, Jonathan and Robert, a daughter, Dava, and a son, Mitchell.

Mrs. Rosenblatt adored her five children, and motherhood kept her busy. She discovered a new hobby: knitting and crocheting blankets and winter accessories for her children and grandchildren.

A stylish woman at every age, Mrs. Rosenblatt was always well-dressed in lavish, decorated apparel. It is known that silver was one of her best colors, as she glimmered and glowed in silver earrings, necklaces, dresses and bracelets.

Her most memorable piece of jewelry was a set of shiny, silver bangles which jingled as she walked, letting those around her know that she was entering a room.

Mrs. Rosenblatt's biggest life achievement was the opportunity to fully decorate her home. She was very happy that she had the chance to decorate a house on her own and finish it.

Susie Rosenblatt is survived by her husband, their five children and 11 grandchildren. She will forever be missed, and will never be forgotten. Heaven gained a true angel.
